In an era of clutter, hype and chaos, “The Edge” brings clarity to small business owners. Ti serves as an easy to follow roadmap for small business success. I’m not going to say “how rich I have become”, although my financial situation has drastically improved. But I will say this, implementation of the building blocks and automation have enabled me to pursue several personal goals like traveling, starting a non-profit environmental website, pursue the guitar and work with many members of my family.
Comment by Keith Cannone — March 11, 2008 @ 12:23 pm
Fantastic! Lots of great ideas! I was engaged throughout the whole book! The point that struck me the most, especially as a support staff member, was about making your customer feel like a valued friend. I always try to go the extra mile with our clients from remembering how they like their coffee to asking about their children by name; it makes an impression on them and hopefully makes us stick out from the crowd and make them come back time and time again.
Comment by Joelle Mendes — March 11, 2008 @ 12:24 pm
Thank you for being so open and honest about your own start up struggles and journey. You gave us hope and vision for what WILL be for our companies. We’re going to go through each building block and apply it to our companies. It will be a great day when we can share our success story “powered by Infusion”. We believe that’s in our future.
Comment by Donna Duffy — March 11, 2008 @ 12:25 pm
Concise, complete and easy to understand. As a marketing professional, I highly recommend this book. It’s everything you need to know in just a few pages.
Comment by Laura Posey — March 11, 2008 @ 12:27 pm
Clate, thank you for your honest story and good luck in bringing Infusion to the next level.
Comment by Tom Koster — March 11, 2008 @ 12:28 pm
The best things about The Edge for me, was the inspiration it brings to entrepreneurs. We all go through rough times and having an example of your perseverance like this is very motivating. The nine steps were also informative.
Comment by Devron Larson — March 11, 2008 @ 12:29 pm
As a CPA, controller and CFO who has turned Entrepreneur I must say you have “hit the nail on the head” with this book. This is a must read for any small business owner ( or any person considering opening their own business)!! I can tell you form experience that the “double your sales” proclamation is an understatement. These principles are a shortcut to success!!
Comment by John Lewis — March 11, 2008 @ 12:29 pm
I really feel that Infusion, as, a whole shows that you all care about your customers and really want all of us to succeed, whether in helping us with our business or using the software itself. Infusion makes me feel like “one” big family and your not just out there trying to sell us and that’s it. The Edge clearly shows Clate Mask’s intention as your customers would like to know what’s going on in the company as well as, helpful tips on how a small business should run and success! Genius!
Comment by Shelley Chu — March 11, 2008 @ 12:30 pm
The presentation was easy to follow and covered all of the key parts of all the elements!
Comment by Bud Rice — March 11, 2008 @ 12:32 pm

Comment by Gayle Abbott — March 11, 2008 @ 12:33 pm
Great book Clate, I like how you put words to being the “Master of the Moment” in my business that is huge and the clocks back the process up. Thanks for the great information, more importantly thank you for your passion and your company’s passion to help us the entrepreneur be more successful.
Comment by Brian Thalhamer — March 11, 2008 @ 12:33 pm
Clate,
Where should I begin. I just finish reading The Edge eBook, this is exactly what I felt prior to finding Infusion CRM and the entrepreneur’ spirit that surrounds it.
I’m sure that to be successful in business it takes to learn it the way you guys learned and described it so well, so you could really understand what a “small business” needs.
I loved being at the conference last week, it’s great to share ideas (give to get) in a room of people with the same stage of business.
By the way I don’t like to be called “Small Business” we are all “growing Businesses”!
Keep up your great work!
Thanks

Clate,
As a GKIC Gold member, I just had to drop a note and say that “The Edge” is an incredible sales letter! Did you write it yourself, or did Dan help? Ya gotta let me know! Congrats either way, I haven’t seen anything like it other than Rich Schefren’s stuff… Top shelf for sure!
And, by the way, I’ll be getting Infusionsoft as soon as I’m ready. Just launching a 15-step JPDK direct mail campaign now to my 2800 “micro-herd.” Keep rockin Dude!
Comment by Kevin Halloran — March 12, 2008 @ 9:39 pm
I just wanted to say that I think your latest outreach was brilliant concerning “The Edge of Success”. From a marketing perspective I think it’s a great tool for customer loyalty and added value. You guys seem to do a great job making the customer/company relationship more than “just business”. The way you portray your company is very genuine and in my opinion, bodes very well. I’m an opinionated marketer and an “on-guard” consumer, so when something resonates with me, I take notice.
Comment by Chase Purles — March 12, 2008 @ 10:26 pm
Thank you for a great read…I will certainly pass this on! Lots of valuable insight
Comment by Georgette — March 13, 2008 @ 10:54 am
Wow! Thanks for all the great comments, everyone. It’s a blast for me to see all the positive response to this e-book. This is something I’ve been wanting to share for a long time because I feel so strongly that there’s a better way for entrepreneurs to build their businesses. “Master the Moment” and the 9 building blocks are the better way. But I must say that as excited as I get when I read these comments, I get even more excited when our customers put the building blocks in place and see their businesses skyrocket.
Comment by Clate — March 13, 2008 @ 2:38 pm
Looks great I look forward to reading the E-book Thanks!
Comment by Chuck Byrd — March 14, 2008 @ 2:14 pm
The Edge is packed with excellent ideas and techniques. There’s no point in working for yourself (or for anyone else) if the work is going to destroy your life. In fact, the only point in working for yourself (or for anyone else) is to live your life. My own business may seem a universe away from the world that Clate describes: we design and paint stained glass. But, if a business has a unique and excellent product, I just can’t see it matters whether this product is software, pills, DVDs or (as in our case) “art”: we’re all proud of what we do, and we all want to succeed. And being a master of the moment (chapter 2) is absolutely vital. It’s great fun, too. Now I particularly want to call out to those people who, through the sheer love of what they do - think of artists and craftspeople across the world - are working themselves into the ground: you already have the most amazing talents, so just listen to what Clate says here, and act on it.
Comment by Stephen Byrne — March 15, 2008 @ 12:16 am
What an excellent ebook, I completely recommend it to any small business owner or entrepreneur to be. Just like the title says, it will give you an edge in this new freedom of conversation world of doing business.
It’s simple, but many entrepreneurs still attach to the all ways of building a business, which aren’t that successful anymore…
Is not just about branding… is about building an authority.

I’m just a little newbee starting out with an affiliate program from Markethealth. This is my way of just starting out in order to get my feet wet. When I learn my way around a little bit, which might take some time, ( i’m not a tech person at all), then I will get a little deeper into this business. I just barely know the differance between a P.C. and a kitty liter box, so bare with me, PLEASE. Anyway, am I a decent candidate for Infusion, or an I just too green and small? Hi Clate.
I’m based in Portugal (Algarve, actually).
First, let me congratulate you and your people for an excelent job in getting my attention.
Second, I’ve signed up for Thursday 4 pm demo, but alas, i do not know if you mean US time. Can you please advise me beforehand by e-mail. I had a conference chat some time ago with a company CEO based in middle US and we were 8 hours apart. Thanks.
Third, being in the real estate business for the last 20 old years and having a nerdy side which has made me proficient in e-marketing, i saw my things i apply on a daily basis. If you read througnh our website you’ll see where I’m coming from. Naturally, I am more than happy to learn more and grow.
So I see there being space for us to become your clients. With an added bonus: Through my network, it is possible to jump the fence and put you into the Portuguese speaking markets.
Just some food for thought.
Please give my best regards to your Family and accept my best wishes for great, sound succes for your company and people in it.

Clate, my business is done exclusively on the internet and maybe, just maybe, it’s only a suggestion, you might want to think about explaining somewhere that this book and information is directed primarily to the brick and mortar business. Not that some of your information isn’t helpful to my situation also. And having been in middle management for 35 yrs, I have to say that the information that you have written is pretty right on. Obviously one could go into much more depth but it is a good map to follow. Thanks!

I appreciate your transparentcy in your story. I am a loan officer looking to increase sales through technology. Your system seems like it covers the bases. I have seen your system in real life situations. I have been marketed to by companies and our company name appeared in their email. I noticed it right away. It keeps the marketer a more professional image, even if they are a tiny company. Keep up the great work and I will be on the live presentation on Monday.
Thanks!!!!

I think that is very important to know the exact way to improve in Internet. Marketing is esential but in the right way. There are a lot of tools, but the tools that we had adquired have to change with the internet changes. This is very important.
Thanks for this opportunity.

You have NO IDEA how timely and valuable your words were today in your ebook! As an entrepreneur just starting in a new endeavor with no sales background (I’m an R.N. by trade) I was simply petrified and intimidated by the sales process I have been taught over the last three weeks. I have never had so many NOs in my life than what I have experienced these last three weeks. You are an inspiration to me. Your book was exactly what I was looking for to make sense out of something so foreign to me. I will definitely reread and reread again until these techniques become a part of my actions. Thanks!

Clate,
I am a word-of-mouth marketing consultant who was contacted about becoming an ICC. With a previous firm I had started, we were trying to find a CRM technology that could automate what we taught. I have to admit, at first glance, you software seemed like a spammer’s dream. It appeared to be the very epitome of “interruption marketing.” It wasn’t until I read your eBook that I realized you have many of the same beliefs that I do about marketing. While the software could be used to spam the heck out of people (and hence reduce sales not grow them), it is also a powerful tool for what I call value-added marketing.
I am glad I took the time to read the eBook. Very good read and I like how you have personalized it (although as a copywriter, the typos annoyed me a bit). You gave me several new ideas, including ones for my own business. Great read and it appears to be great technology. I look forward to learning more about it.
