An Intimate Portrait of the American Entrepreneur

March 31, 2009 | by Linda Hardwick

The American Entrepreneur Portrait ProjectYou’ve heard us say it a lot lately, in many ways: We believe completely in the power of the entrepreneurial spirit to rise to any challenge, overcome obstacles and dream up solutions to any problem. We believe that small business growth, not bailouts, will be the answer to our economic situation.

When we learned about the project of fellow entrepreneurs Allana and Trent Taranto of Ars Magna Studio, we knew we had met kindred spirits. This week they are embarking on a cross-country journey to create an epic photo series, titled “An Intimate Portrait of the American Entrepreneur.” Their project aims to capture that spirit of optimism, showcasing the true face of the American entrepreneur to create an inspiring and authentic visual narrative.

Infusionsoft is proud to be a part of this project, sponsoring Ars Magna Studio’s quest to create a series of portraits of small business owners across the United States. In their words, they will document entrepreneurs “who are fearlessly going forward, making steps (or leaps) towards their goals; people, who believe in themselves, are living their dreams; people who are ready to make miracles happen and are poised to take a leap of faith.”

Cross-Country: The American Entrepreneur Portrait Project

Allana and Trent will give the business owners they photograph a digital copy of the resulting image, providing each entrepreneur with a completely unique, professional editorial portrait they can use for their business. Entrepreneur and author, Mike Michalowicz is donating a copy of his book, The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur, to each small business owner and will be following the project as well.

Follow along with them via the Ars Magna Studio blog and the #americanentrepreneur conversation thread on Twitter. You can see their proposed route, here: http://tinyurl.com/c45uu5

We will be following their progress and cheering them along the entire way. Today, a packed Corolla kicks off the project. Stay tuned for updates with Allana and the team. Hooray for the entrepreneur! :-)

It has been fun to follow along via Twitter and the Ars Magna Studio blog as this project gets underway. It’s uplifting to see that entrepreneurs are optimistic and committed to innovating in order to stay in business and be successful. From Rich Salvestrin at Salvestrin Winery in Northern California to Retrospect Studios and Doodads Promotional Products in Salt Lake City, entrepreneurs are keeping the faith. I can’t wait to see the next entrepreneurs they meet along the route.

Thanks to Infusionsoft for supporting the entrepreneurs who are documenting the true face of entrepreneurship across America.

I am following the project via the Ars Magna Studio blog:
