Snow Leopard was actually completely re-written from the ground up. It's not just a couple of minor tweaks made to the original Leopard, made as a way to generate some quick revenue...
  • Brad - You may be right that Snow Leopard was re-written from scratch and, if so, kudos to Apple. But that's not the point. The point is, they releases a product that is easy to swallow for the customer. If it was rewritten, then the "refinement" spin on it might have been devised to encourage adoption. Sometimes people don't want major updates because they're worried about stuff breaking. So, by having a product that is easy to adopt, at a price that is easy to swallow, Apple nailed the ability to monetize during a down economy.
