I think the key to figuring this out is to be able to recognize buying signals.  I think this is more important than the actual words or phrases.  In this case, your buying signals were pretty obvious - you opened your wallet and pulled out some cash.  The bellman knew he had you sold the minute you reached for your wallet.  Then, he took advantage of the situation.  In most sales situations the buying signals are going to be less obvious, but the better you are at recognizing them, the more you&#039;ll be able to up-sell during the closing process.</description> <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Great post Dave.
