I, along with the rest of the company, helped hundreds of Infusionsoft users send their first email marketing 2.0 broadcast last week. We learned a ton in the process, especially those in Infusionsoft who don’t typically interface with users this way. We corralled employees and got it done, and we’re proud of the success stories we witnessed as users pushed “send” on their first email marketing 2.0 broadcasts. In doing so, I wanted to provide a handful of useful resources to help you during your initial steps with Infusionsoft.
We sent postcards.
We used voice broadcasting.
We sent emails.
We called. Over and over.
We succeeded.
That’s the summary of how we reached out to users one-on-one in mass as an entire company last week to help customers send their first email marketing 2.0 broadcasts. Here are a couple reactions from customers:
“I just finished setting up my first broadcast email campaign with Infusionsoft. As suggested by Kinney at Infusionsoft, I used the ‘Humble Apology’ template for my first ever broadcast email to ‘reconnect’ with my customer list that I was pretty much doing nothing with. Wow, is all I can say! After working with Kinney to get it set up, we sent it out. My copy of ‘Humble Apology’ arrived in my inbox at 2:42 PM and by 2:47 PM I had already received a response from a contact wanting to book our NASCAR race tour package to Bristol, TN this coming August. I was shocked to actually get a response and even more in awe that it only took 5 minutes! I wanted to let you know that since I sent the email and until sending this testimonial to you as of 4:45 PM, I have had over 100 people click on the link to receive future vacation information.”

“I’m already seeing results—3 people bought within 24 hours of my sending my first broadcast.”

During the Launch Party, we covered three primary topics with users. Specifically, those are:
- Understanding the Double Your Sales Success Path.
- Importing and segmenting your contacts.
- Sending your first email marketing 2.0 broadcast
1. Double Your Sales Success Path
After working with thousands of small business owners, we’ve proven that this model for new users is the path to be successful with Infusionsoft. This guide is intended to help you discover many elements of the software – from email marketing 2.0 to follow-up sequences to tagging to marketing automation. CEO Clate Mask kicked off the Success Path following InfusionCon 2010; learn more about the path on his blog entry.
2. Importing and segmenting your data
To get started with Infusionsoft, you should migrate your data. It’s very easy with our new importing wizard – especially if you already use AWeber, Constant Contact or 1ShoppingCart. Likewise, segmenting your list is crucial to send truly personalized and relevant messages later. We’ve got several helpful resources to show how to import your data into Infusionsoft.
3. Send your first email marketing 2.0 broadcast.
We know you’ve used prior email solutions before, but this isn’t your mom’s email marketing software. We’ve invested thousands of hours (make that several years) into making our email marketing app stand out for your business. Sending your first broadcast with Infusionsoft (perhaps to kick off your confirmed-opt-in model) is essential so you become comfortable with the process. We have an entire help section dedicated to helping new users send their first broadcasts – plus many free webinars, too.
Great job to everyone who pitched in and helped send their first broadcast!
