Ready to Ship: Infusionsoft + UPS

June 4, 2010 | by Joseph Manna

Infusionsoft UPS IntegrationIn our 2010 Summer Release, we announced we support real-time UPS shipping integration. This is huge because it addresses a top request from users who use our eCommerce features to calculate shipping. This advancement will make it easy for users to charge accurate, variable shipping charges so their customers get a specific shipping price on their merchandise.

A popular request from users was for us to provide some type of integration so they can provide shipping charges based on the buyer’s location. Truth be told, we haven’t had this in place yet and users had to charge static shipping prices. Until now.

To do this, you need an account with UPS so you can enter the details into Infusionsoft. From there, we handle all the techie stuff to talk with UPS and acquire the shipping calculations. By doing it this way, you can provide specific (and accurate) shipping prices to your customers and be able to automate it with Infusionsoft.

We’ve started with UPS as a supported shipping carrier. We’ve got plans to expand into FedEx and United States Postal Service in the future. We’ve also got plans to expand support for labels and other aspects related to fulfillment.

Once your application receives the 2010 Summer Release, you can setup your Infusionsoft account to integrate with UPS by going to Setup, then Shopping Cart and Under Checkout, click Shipping Options.

Here’s a sample of what this will look like in Infusionsoft:

This looks great. My question is can we use UPS real time in addition to other shipping methods? I use both USPS and UPS.

      Jean,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. At the moment only UPS is supported but we plan to eventually support multiple carriers. (You'd be surprised how unique all the shipping carrier APIs are!)

Thanks for your reply… but that wasn't my question. Can we have both UPS and another option too? I'm currently guessing the USPS costs by pound.

Eventually once we have multiple shipping carriers (not for a while), users will be able to use different carriers at once for different products.

Thanks Joseph. Looking forward to that day!
