We get flanked with this question daily from our users and it even drove our own team nuts. The question goes like this:
How can I send people who already double-opted-in to my Web Form be sent to the success page afterward?
Previously, this was a limitation but as of a couple months ago, our developers deployed a feature that makes this task easy. I recorded a video screencast on how to tackle this challenge for your Web Forms.
This question comes in several ways from our customers. I decided it would a good idea to give it a shot and answer this question here on the blog along with a video demonstrating it. The process is easy but also important so you can deliver your complimentary offer to prospects who have already confirmed their opt-in request with you and promote healthy email marketing best practices.
Infusionsoft respects people’s inboxes by ensuring that recipients who are already double-opted-in, they don’t receive duplicate requests. As such, if you have a prospecting Web Form that requires email confirmation, your confirmed opt in recipients won’t see it. (The exception to that is for follow-up sequences, because they are scheduled.)
To see an example of a confirmed opt in model, sign up to receive Dave Lee’s Master of the Moment eBook. You’ll see that once you confirm your email, you’ll be pointed to download the PDF.
A few things to point out –
- Actions are “immediate,” unlike Follow-up Sequences which are “scheduled.”
- Email sent through double-opt-in channels are delivered via a cleaner pool of IPs.
- By using a Confirmed Opt In model for your email marketing, you will observe much fewer complaints. Fewer complaints = better email deliverability, happier subscribers and sustainable results.
- It’s highly suggested to test and confirm it to make sure you have your Web Form conditional actions set correctly.
If you have suggestions on how we can simplify this process, go to Infusionsoft Ideas and let me know in the comments your fresh idea.
I hope this addresses the questions that you have on this. I know you might have a lot more. Feel free to post a comment below or cruise by the Fusebox and post a question there.
