As an entrepreneur, you’re probably a hunter. A hunter for information, tips, techniques and best practices to manage and grow your small business. The good news is, there is a ton of valuable information out there from authorities on entrepreneurship that you need to be drinking from right now. I’ve narrowed a large list of blogs down to the nine blogs you must read.
What makes a blog a must-read? Frequent updates, fresh content, and amazing information are just the start of what I consider a blog to be a must-read. Stop scavenging and hunt for the best information to grow your business. The truth is, there is a lot of crap out there that will just waste your time. I promise you that these blogs will give you a ton of value.
- Small Business Trends – Anita Campbell is the editor of this small business blog that is packed with new trends, small business news, Webinars, tutorials and of course, her own take on the small business scene. We’re proud to be a sponsor of this blog too, but really she’s the queen bee of small business blogging.
- Small Business Technology — Ramon Ray is the editor of this sweet technology blog for small business owners. Many small business owners often hunt for affordable technology; Ramon and team cover how to leverage technology to improve business for their customers (and themselves).
- Washington Post – Small Business — Sharon McLoone is the voice for the Washington Post, and more informally the voice of small business in America. She covers important small business topics that affect entrepreneurs nationwide, including the buzz in DC as it surrounds the Small Business Administration.
- Seth Godin’s Blog — The marketing genius himself shares valuable thoughts and advice for marketers to consider when marketing to people. Not only does he have a great blog, but he has great books, too. All entrepreneurs should check him out.
- Marketing 2.0 — Beeline Labs runs this community/shared blog and covers topics surrounding marketing through social media. They have great topics and tips that I think every entrepreneur should know about.
- Small Biz Survival — Becky McCray and team at Small Biz Survival run this killer blog with tips on not just making your small business survive, but thrive instead. I’ve always enjoyed the content, stories they cover and tips they provide fellow entrepreneurs, and this blog should totally be in the back-pocket of every entrepreneur.
- The Email Wars — Dylan Boyd covers the latest trends and patterns in email marketing. Expect him to be brutally honest and upfront with how a company is handling their email marketing (the good, the bad and the ugly). I enjoy Boyd’s opinions as he rips on great examples of email marketing and points out exactly what makes an email successful, or not. Entrepreneurs looking to brand their email marketing need to subscribe to The Email Wars for the insight Boyd provides.
- The Email Experience Blog — The DMA runs their wing of email marketing on the Email Experience Blog, lending their guidance on successful, interesting and useful advice for marketing through email effectively. Yes, another email marketing one; but if you read the posts carefully, the advice isn’t strictly limited to email, it applies to communicating with customers as a whole. Entrepreneurs and internet marketers alike need to heed the advice this blog shares.
- Gary Vaynerchuk — Probably the most authentic and honest entrepreneur who uses video to build his brand sets the stage for all other entrepreneurs. He’s loud and some might say he’s over the top… I don’t think so. I’ve played several hands of Texas Hold ‘Em with Gary. He’s legit and gives straight advice for every small business out there.
I read these blogs practically everyday and love the content they share. How do I read all this killer content in just 3 minutes a day? Google Reader. Sign up, login in, watch the intro video and use it. I think it’s the best way to manage all this killer content without being bombarded in the inbox.
While you’re at it, if you haven’t done so already, subscribe to the Infusionsoft blog (use the form on the right side near the top). It’s a great way to get updates to your email or where ever you read your feeds. We love subscribers and it helps us get you exactly what you want, when you want it. ![]()
I know I’ll get heat for this. I probably didn’t mention your blog. If you think your blog is worthy of being mentioned in this list, share it below and a brief description of why it deserves to be in it. I love to capture the voice of you and listen to you, so either way, submit your blog. I just might feature you. ![]()
