As a popular Web application that many small business owners use to grow their business, we receive many requests to add features or change the ones we have. We’re trying something new to empower all Infusionsoft clients (and even non-clients) to help them.

Infusionsoft Ideas are the new spot to submit your suggestions and new ideas for Infusionsoft to include in our software, Infusionsoft. That is, the top suggestions will be selected at every major release and will be featured into our software.

Here is the history behind our drive to this –

Clients who contacted us and said, “Hey, you know what; I want Infusionsoft to do this…” Our employees would often go to our product management team, share the client’s feedback to them and say, “Hey, a customer suggested for us to do this. What do you think?” Product management would respond with, “Yeah, that would be sweet, but I don’t have it slotted into development now.” Moreover, that’s where ideas are laid to rest. This little injustice has lead to several frustrations in how we accepted customer feedback.

Well, the buck stops here. (I hate using lame clichés like that, but it fits well.)

Product managers get the power (or burden, depending on how you look at it) in deciding what projects are done first. Well, our product management team is going to try something different. They’re giving you control over the features YOU want in the next release!

Before you scroll down and start tossing great ideas at us, (we’re flattered, thanks) we want to explain a several points:

• You have to submit and vote for ideas on our Web site, http://ideas.infusionsoft.com/. We using awesome social technology powered by UserVoice for managing this. (Thanks for making this possible.)
• You get ten votes; you can spend up to three votes per suggestion and you may reallocate votes as desired. Much like product managers, you will be able to allocate more votes (ahem, resources) into ideas which matter to you most.
• It’s powered by you. Without getting into lengthy explanations, all suggestions are powered by users just like you. Spend a few minutes to search through the list and vote on ideas others have. It’s how the process works to everyone’s benefit.
• If you run out of votes, don’t worry. You can move votes from less-important ideas and move them around. Even if you don’t want to change your votes, you can always comment on the ideas as much as you want.
• Not to sound harsh, if you don’t vote — don’t complain. We have no more power over you in the process. Essentially, the pitchforks are in your hands. In all fairness, we’re giving you the chance to be heard and let us know what’s important to you. (It’s okay if you complain, too; we’re always listening.)
