To mix things up and give insight on some of the perspective from other folks close the marketing and small business space, I will be featuring them on our blog. If you want to be featured on a Five Question Friday, let me know – you never know what I might ask.
This week, Corban Tenney from our Business Development team is the subject of today’s five questions.
What do you do at Infusionsoft?
I am the main recruiter in our Business Development team who seeks out new relationships for Infusionsoft. I look for opportunities to leverage partners and businesses to help in our goal to revolutionize the way small businesses grow. Partnerships are key to mutual success and it usually starts with me.
What is one of your best moments at Infusionsoft?
For about two years now, our inside sales team gets together each morning and recite our company DREAM, VISION, PURPOSE AND MISSION. It was powerful to hear these from the people who are on the front lines with our clients recite those values with gusto. It makes me proud to be part of such an amazing company that has such a deep commitment to its users, employees and small businesses.
I know you’re pretty good at selling and presenting … what are a few tips you have to share?
Well one of the things I have learned in business is that it doesn’t matter what role we have — we are all in “sales.” We have to sell our worth everyday to everyone. I have noticed those who are the most effective sellers are often great listeners. Most sales people love to hear themselves speak, but I find that their effectiveness lacks when they don’t listen effectively. Those who truly listen first then speak are the most effective sales people I know.
What is one thing you’ve learned in the past couple years at Infusionsoft that others should know?
I have learned that if you are loyal to your employees, customers and friends, they will be loyal to you.
What are you up to lately?
I get the cool opportunity to work with our numerous partners. Next week, I get the opportunity to attend a Ryan Lee event in Connecticut. I’m very excited for that because I’ll be working with a new partner and connect with many new small businesses.
Thanks, Corban for taking a few minutes to answer today’s five questions. I know you do a lot for our business development team and it’s great for our audience to hear a little bit more about who you are and what you’re doing to help ablaze our road to helping revolutionize small business.
