As you know, email deliverability is a popular (and controversial) topic for customers. We’re taking a big step in educating our customers in proper email marketing practices. The witty title of this new effort, “Don’t Pee in the Pool,” couldn’t be closer to the truth as it relates to getting your messages delivered. I’ve provided a quick overview of this effort.
“Don’t pee in the pool! Email deliverability is everyone’s responsibility.”
The honest truth is that we’re all responsible for getting email delivered on time, to the Inbox and being good Internet email marketing leaders. To meet that obligation, we’re going all out and informing clients about the importance and the relevance of good email marketing practices.
Wait, you might wonder why we called this campaign “Don’t Pee in the Pool?” We used this lighthearted example to communicate the embarrassing nature of poor email deliverability (for all our users) in addition to how easy it is to manage. The truth is we all have some effort to contribute to defend the quality and integrity of our pool of IP addresses.
I’d like to point out that we sent this out to our customers and newsletter subscribers in an effort to educate about the importance of IP reputation. For the most part, Infusionsoft uses shared IP’s to deliver email at an affordable rate; in addition to offering premium independent IPs.
This email message is the kickoff of a campaign to help our users send email more responsibly, improve our consumer experience and guide our users to perform above and beyond industry expectations. We want folks to go ahead and review the informative articles we published and stay tuned for future articles, whitepapers, webinars and more. We believe that a serious discussion about email marketing practices is due and this is just the start.
All we’ve suggested is that you don’t pee in the pool when it comes to your email IP reputation. What you do at public pools is completely your business. Alright?
